Updates Coming

Hey everyone,

The Furthering Underused Collective Knowledge team is teaming up with the UMD Radical History project to collate a lot of interviews with student groups and radical activists. We currently have over four hours of footage to post, so we’re working on finding good hosting and converting the files to a lossless codec. In the meantime, expect more zines to be uploaded and for the site to generally start growing. As the semester wraps up, there are three forums people should keep their eyes on.

The first one is tomorrow, Tuesday from 8am to 9:15am in the Nyumburu Multipurpose Room. This forum will include remarks from Frank Brewer, Interim VP of Administrative Affairs, as well as an overview of the Facilities Management training program “As Simple as Respect.” The rest of the time will be spent hearing stories from campus workers from Facilities Management, Residential Services, and other departments.

The second and third forums are both on Thursday. First is the forum with the management of DayCon, the company that delivers cleaning and bathroom supplies to our campus. This will be at 5pm in the Atrium of Stamp. Come bring your questions! You can find the Facebook event here:  https://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=205835639457356

Finally, at 7pm on Thursday in the Nyumburu Multipurpose Room will be a Solidarity Forum. Campus administrators are not involved in the planning of this event. The purpose is to show support for campus workers, dialogue with them about issues we face together, and next steps moving into the summer.  The Facebook event is here: https://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=196646960380674
